When there is a fire alarm activation, or there is a report of a fire, the dispatcher most commonly sends; 3 engine companies, 1 ladder truck, 1 ALS ambulance, and 1 chief officer .This is the result of strategic planning and preparation coordinated by the fire chiefs in accordance with national guidelines.

It is the policy of the Cumberland Fire Department, That all career firefighters are required to maintain a Emergency Medical Technician License. This licenses allow the crews to provide emergency life saving care to the sick and injured. Cumberland Fire District apparatus are licensed non-transport BLS (Basic Life Support) ambulances, Allowing the licensed staff to perform life saving medical procedures. Our companies assist the paramedics from Cumberland EMS division to provide the best care possible for our patient. Cumberland Fire believes the citizens deserve the best care possible, this is why we respond to any and all emergency medical calls in the Town of Cumberland.
