Summary

The Cumberland Fire Department provides emergency services to the Town of Cumberland, Rhode Island. Cumberland is located in Providence County, 10 minutes north of the Capitol City of Providence and 45 minutes south of the City of Boston, MA. The department operates out of 4 stations located strategically throughout the town. The department provides emergency services to 34,000+ citizens of Cumberland in an area of 28.6 square miles and employs 52 career personnel assigned over 4 platoons (shifts), (6) administrative personnel. All fire companies are staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week with 3 career personnel operating 3 Engine Companies and 1 Ladder Company. Currently, the department holds an ISO rating of 3.

    Located in the southern portion of the town station 1 houses Engine Co. 1 & the regional reserve ladder truck. The station also houses a rescue boat and foam trailer. Cumberland Rescue Co. 2 (ALS ambulance) is also quartered here.
